Dominoes can be played by any age group. For larger groups make one set of tiles for every 5 people. There
are three sets, phonetic, compound word and irregular verb, each containing 48 peices with double word and
blank tiles.
The Beginning game uses all short vowel words and minimal pairs. The teacher has the option of allowing the students to match
the vowel sounds or directing students to only match minimal pairs . The Compound Word set is targeted for advanced beginners and intermediate students. Teacher can increase the difficulty by
stating all words must face the same direction. Tiles should not be place upside down in order to create a match.
The Irregular Verb set contains present and past tense verbs. This set can also be made more difficult be stating that matches cannot
be created by placing tiles upside down.
How To Play
Place all tiles face down on a flat surface. Play of game should begin after
each student has selected six tiles from pile. The student who draws a double word tile will place it in center
of the playing surface. The student on the left must make a match using a tile from thier hand or draw a new tile
from the pile. The student will continue to draw a tile until they can make a match. Once a match has been made, play passes
to the next student. Play continues until one student has no more tiles in thier hand or there are no more tiles in the pile.
